About you.

Making changes in your life can feel scary and overwhelming. I congratulate you on taking the first step to becoming a better, more balanced YOU!

Many everyday life events can disrupt your emotional and physical health. This can lead to strong feelings of fear, worry, sadness, stress or anxiety. Sometimes even good changes can be stressful or feel overwhelming.  Life events such as:
  • Starting a new job or job promotion
  • Being laid off from your job
  • Adopting a chid or having a new baby
  • Moving to a new home
  • Getting married or divorced
  • Experiencing money problems
  • Suffering an illness or physical injury

More traumatic life events can really take a toll on your mind and body.
  • Dealing with the death of a loved one
  • A car accident
  • A physical or sexual assault
  • Bullying
  • Experiencing a natural disaster
  • Past childhood trauma
  • Witnessing a traumatic event
  • Being the caretaker of a parent, spouse or child

Whether you are dealing with life changes or traumatic events - your mind and body can feel it and you can become imbalanced.  Those imbalances can manifest as physical symptoms such as:
  • back pain
  • change in appetite
  • digestion issues
  • fatigue
  • general aches and pains
  • headaches
  • trouble sleeping
  • knee pain
  • weight gain or loss.
  • autoimmune diseases

WHAT TO EXPECT
Individual therapy sessions include talk therapy, biofeedback to better understand the root cause, and mindfulness to embrace somatic experiences and release the emotions being stored.  During sessions, you have the option of sitting in a chair, lying fully clothed on a table, or any combination of both. The use of tapping is a vital aspect of the mind body approach to mental health in that it assists in gaining body awareness, in developing a clients sense of boundaries, in regulating the bodies central nervous system, and in releasing any physical or energetic restrictions that are inhibiting your ability to progress. Breathing practices, meditation, guided imagery, and tapping are an integral part of the mind body approach to mental health.
