The Mind-body connection.
What if I told you that you could do talk therapy for years BUT if you don't address your mind and body - not much will change?
The mind body approach to healing is different, it is not about changing behaviors or thoughts. Since the correct answer is always within you, it's about reconnecting to the innate wisdom within the body. Trauma can interfere with your ability to interpret your body's wisdom. I define trauma as anytime your body activated to protect you and could not deactivate to feel safe. Without the deactivation process, the body can become stuck in flight, fight and/or freeze. Trauma creates an incomplete protection response and causes you to feel stuck in your past, afraid of your future, and unable to be happy in the present.
With mind body healing, you can tune into the body without letting language get in the way. You can learn to reconnect to yourself and in the process heal from past pain and trauma. Understanding the mind body connection is powerful and can free your mind and body from trauma and stress of daily life.
All of our emotions and feelings are processed and stored within the body. By bringing awareness to the internal body experience, with curiosity seeking out its needs, you can connect to your inner wisdom and become free of resistance and limitations. You then experience the wonderful news; your body has the innate ability to heal itself.
Connecting back into your internal body is effortless, as you were born to do it, but it does require practice. In workshops and sessions, we will practice supporting the body, acknowledging the uncomfortable sensations and interpreting your body's need to feel safe again. The stored trauma creating tension in your body will release, the unconscious worrying and fear in your mind will subside, and you will feel empowered to be the best version of yourself.
